Our Wedding Reception, Part 2

Our wedding reception was held the next day, 12/28/19. I planned every detail myself and I’m super proud of myself for it.

On the actual day, I had my day of coordinator (C Squared Events) set everything up. They were super easy to work with and so absolutely amazing!

My reception was held at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club. I wanted something charming and sort of country and this place was it. Bella Collina was my first choice but our date was already chosen so this was a close second!

My amazing photographers were of course @lecapephotography.

I got ready in one of the rooms at the venue. It was a really nice room! Here are a few getting ready shots:

Makeup, hair, veil setting, and help getting ready by @makeupbywaida. She was amazing! Forever grateful for her and could not have picked anyone better to do my makeup for my special day. I did do my own eyebrows because I’m weird about them.

My necklace, earrings, and crown are from @thebridalfinery. They are @mariaelenaheadpieces. For shoes I knew I wanted something I’d be able to wear again and I feel like I needed something just plain and nude for my dress. I ordered the garter off of Etsy (btw they have the cutest wedding stuff!) and it came with an additional toss garter. I didn’t do the whole thing where your husband takes off the garter in front of everyone cause I would be too ashamed for that with all my family there! I just gave him the additional garter.

Pretty sure I wore my sleeves backwards the entire time

My dress is from @thecollectionbridal. I always pass by their shop on park ave in awe! I think they have one of the most beautiful dress collections. I did go to a few stores before deciding on this one. My appointment was only supposed to last 1.5 hours and I ended up going waayyy over time. I am super thankful to the staff who allowed me to stay and for my stylist Nancy and for Roya who made sure everything went well. I ordered these sleeves custom from my dress designer @martinalianabridal through my bridal shop.

BTW, I got three fittings. On the first fitting they pin everything up to how it should be. On the second fitting, nothing is sewn yet. They go ahead and make sure that everything is perfect and then they start to sew everything to your body. On the third fitting I collected my dress! So, definitely ask how many fittings your bridal shop offers and get to your goal weight before they start sewing it to fit your body. I mean, I guess ideally you should be your goal weight when you go try on the dress but life happens.

My florist was @orlandowholesaleflorist and he was amazing. I absolutely loved my flowers. He definitely knocked it out of the park!

The second thing I loved most about my dress was that the white sequins sparkled so beautifully and it wasn’t tacky. Sometimes I think silver sparkles on a wedding gown can look tacky if not done right so I love that this was more of a subtle timeless kind of sparkle, cause I’m definitely all about that. I’ll tell you my first favorite thing about the dress later on in the post.

This was a photo from our first look, which apparently he saw me before the first look *face palm*

first-look

The cake OMG. I went back and forth on the design so so many times. I wanted all white of course, with elements of silver. I had to feed about 200 people so it definitely needed to be 5 tier. I absolutely love the way it came out. Our flavors were honey apricot (to die for!! I seriously crave this cake) and chocolate cake with crushed up ferrerro roshers in the filling. Our cake was from @lepetitsweet and I think they were reasonably priced. They are located in Mt. Dora.

The lighting makes the cake look yellow but it was not. The servers are from Hobby Lobby.

I definitely knew I needed lots of candles to make the area look really romantic and I did just that! The candles are from quick candles and so are the vases.

We had vanilla and earl grey macarons boxed and provided by Le Petit Sweet for our favors. Our tablescape featured a centerpiece of white and ivory roses, hydrangeas, ranuculus, dusty miller, and eucalyptus sat atop a circular mirror. We alternated between high and low floral arrangements. We also had plenty of candles to set the mood! There were also white flower petals on top of each table. The beautiful chargers and our sweetheart chairs (which you can’t really see) are from A Chair Affair. I ordered the thank yous that were placed in each napkin online. The mirrored names were ordered from Etsy and I love that unique touch that they added.

I wish I had pictures of my actual invitation because it was so cute!!! I have some at home so if I can get a picture I will come back later and add them here. I got them on Etsy from Turkey. It was basically this invitation but in white and silver and honestly the price was not horrible! I also added peony blossom sachets inside the invitation and people kept talking about how great my invitations smelt! I know people say not to spend a lot of money on invitations because people will throw them away anyways. However, I do feel like your invitation sets the stage for what your wedding will be like. I mean, don’t go crazy, but also get a nice invite.

I had a white and silver theme so that’s why I chose those colors. Ahmet was so easy to work with and I definitely recommend him! The picture is linked to his store so if you are interested just give it a click!

It does bother me a little that the pipe and dripe wasn’t carried all the way to the top but it’s okay not a big deal

I love this floral arch that Jason from Orlando Wholesale Florist created for us. He did an amazing job!

I don’t want to share too many family photos but I will share these:

martina-liana

Okay, that’s all I’m gonna share family wise.

Now more photos of me! I also had the handrails covered in flowers too and I’m glad we did because I love the photos we took here. We had a staircase entrance and honestly it didn’t work out as planned. My dress was way heavy and tight for this but Superray to the rescue haha as you will see soon!

Reason #1 that I loved this dress: the beautiful train
I absolutely love this shot and am grateful to my photographers for making sure my veil and train were spread out!

For our first dance we had the sparklers and low lying fog and it was magical! I absolutely love these pictures. BTW apparently you are supposed to hold your train on your arm when you do your first dance. Would’ve made it a whole lot easier if I knew that. Probably also helps if you get bustled first.

We also had snowflakes projected on the ceiling. This was actually supposed to happen on Day 1 but something happened to where they were not able to do them for us so they provided them on Day 2! Snowflakes courtesy of Get Lit! We also had hot chocolate! This is the only time of year where Florida gets a little chilly so I took full advantage of that!

The sparklers and low lying fog were provided by @orlandosparklersse. Our DJ was @june_singh and he was amazing! Highly recommend to all my guyanese fellows. I love soca music and he definitely played a lot of it!

While I’m uploading fog pics, might as well upload these too:

Uploading this one from my father daughter dance because I look cute

About the bouquet toss, I literally tried twice and still sucked at it. Is this something you have to practice too? LOL I’m laughing because I did such a horrible job. On the bright side, my florist threw in a separate bouquet for the toss!

This is the only full size plain photo I have of just me so here we go:

Here are some dance floor photos:

Lastly, we also had a mirror photobooth as a favor which was so cute and fit into our theme so well. It was from Magic Mirror Enchanted Photobooth.

Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed my wedding day! I literally just wanna dress up in 5 million different dresses and get married a million more times (to the same person of course ;*). Can I just have at least 3-4 more weddings? Haha. Anyone else feel the same way?

Oh! Almost forgot: my lashes are by @eyecreateher and she created the perfect wispy yet voluminous wedding set for me! Since my wedding day was around Christmas time I did have to get them a few days before. I touched up my lashes with House of Lashes Le Petit Double individuals and they worked perfectly! I hate having to use strip lashes because sometimes the inner corner lifts so I definitely recommend eyelash extensions to any bride. An added bonus is that you get to have fabulous lashes for the honeymoon also!

If COVID-19 canceled or changed your wedding plans, I’d love to hear how you adapted and what changes you made! I love weddings and everything wedding related and I’m still super obsessed so share any stories you have below, doesn’t have to be COVID-19 related!

You look absolutely stunning! I love all the photos!

My cousin got married in July & she had a small ceremony with immediate family & live streamed it (I didn’t watch it b/c she lives in Florida & the ceremony was at like 11PM for me). Also, one of my friends from college was supposed to get married this year, but they moved the wedding to October next year.

Aww thank you! I live in Florida too! Congratulations to her! It’s sad that couples can’t have everyone physically there but the live stream is such a good idea! Hopefully all goes well for your friend’s wedding!
