Messy Curly Hair + My First YT Tutorial

I curl my hair a lot on an everyday basis because I love voluminous hair as opposed to flat hair. This doesn’t take me long and it’s super easy!

It’s normally so hard for my hair to keep a curl, but using this wand my hair will stay curly for 3 days!

Wand: http://www.remingtonproducts.com/womens/haircare/CurlingIrons/CI96W1A-TStudio-SILK-Ceramic-Slim-Styling-Wand.aspx

If you scrunch your hair a lot, try adding a few of these curls into your hair. It will look so beautiful!

To get this style: Flip the direction of the curl in and out, with the exception of the pieces towards the face (flip those outwards).

Here’s my tutorial on how to do it!

I don’t know why this is the thumbnail when I changed it 50 times. Seriously, get it together Youtube.

But anyways, show me some love guys! I’m super excited cause I’ve always wanted to do it! Hope you guys are having a great day!

What are your favorite curling techniques and wands?

10 Beauty Products that are Not Worth the Hype

  1. L’Oréal Voluminous Mascara – Carbon Black
    • By the way everyone raves about this product I thought it would be amazing and better than my holy grail (Too Faced BTS), but it isn’t.
    • It IS a good mascara for volume – but not for length.
    • CoverGirl has equally great mascaras.
  2. Makeup Forever Skin Equalizer Primer
    • Doesn’t control my oil so makeup longevity decreases.
    • Might be better for someone with dry skin.
    • Don’t notice a smoothing effect.
  3. NUME Curling Wands
    • I have the set with 3 barrels (big, medium, small).
    • Hair doesn’t hold a curl very long with these
    • Temperature keeps fluctuating
    • The one pro is that my hair does look shiny when I use this product.
  4. Soap and Glory Body Butter and Shower Gel
    • I expected this to be amazing because it’s raved about so much.
    • Quality is okay – there’s nothing AMAZING about it but the scent
    • I think Bath and Body Works is comparable or maybe even better.
  5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kits
    • Hard to blend, don’t recommend for beginners
    • The yellow colored concealer is a little harsh for most skin tones
  6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Contour Kits
    • Don’t use this product alone as just a powder contour because after a couple hours the product will separate and be very patchy on the face (oily skin).
    • Works better on top of a cream concealer. Mist with Fix+.
    • I like the cool toned contour color to carve out my cheekbones.
  7. Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits
    • Pigmentation is good BUT WAY TOO DRYING for the price point
    • Gets patchy during the day
  8. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
    • Expected more from this product because of the price
      • I wasn’t WOW-ed by it
    • Similar effects to chapstick
  9. Colour Pop Matte Liquid Lipsticks
    • Extremely drying
    • LOVE their lippie stix (Rayezor is my fave) just not their ultra mattes
  10. Urban Decay Glitter Liner and Single Shadows
    • Liner: not enough sparkle, thin, need to build up intensity
      • Would use NYX liner instead because it’s cheaper and has more glitter
    • Shadows: again, not enough sparkle, fall out is crazy
      • If you’re looking for a shimmery finish as opposed to a glitter finish then this would be great for you.
      • I have three glittery eye shadows that look beautiful in the pan but when applied it, it just looks like a powdery shadow.

The Hunt for the Best Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is a must-have if you’re someone like me who washes their hair every 2-3 days. Initially I thought dry shampoo was a myth until I finally tried it for myself and realized what a staple it is. I’m still looking for my favorite one, but here are my thoughts on the ones that I’ve tried so far.

1) Loreal Paris EverStyle Dry Shampoo
Out of the three that I’ve tried, this was my least favorite. This works for like 3 minutes and then my hair is greasy again.

2) Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo
This product is great for absorbing excess oil and adding volume to the hair. It’s also super long lasting. This is my favorite out of the three.

3) TRESemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo
My hair does not look greasy at first when I use this product but it isn’t very long lasting. I also don’t see much added volume with this product. I have very thick coarse hair so it might work better on someone with thinner hair.

Any suggestions on which ones I should try next? Let me know in the comments!
