Hi everyone! First off, sorry I didn’t post anything last week, I was so busy with finals! I will try to do 2 posts this week to make up for that! 🙂 Anyways, this week I wanted to do a review on Colourpop’s lip products for you guys! Everyone raves about ColourPop‘s lip products because of their pigmentation and affordable price (lipsticks are around 5$-6$). I’ve tried their ultra mattes, their lippie stix, and their lippie pencils. Here are my thoughts: THEIR LIPPIE STIX ARE AWESOME! They are hydrating and pigmented. I love the color “Rayezor” from their collection. It’s the perfect coral-ish nude!! Definitely gonna repurchase this one! See below for swatches. I don’t love their ultra mattes. While they are affordable and pigmented, they are incredibly drying. I’ve tried Instigator, Bianca, and Limbo. I don’t think Instigator and Bianca are flattering on my skin tone.. but that’s my fault for picking colors that were too light. See below for swatches. Their lippie pencils are really nice. I have one of them in Bound and it’s super creamy and pigmented!! Have you tried ColourPop? I wanna try their eye shadows next! Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts. The Real Use for Mac Fix +
Hey everyone! Today I wanted to talk about MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix+. Many people think that MAC Fix+ is intended to be a setting spray, when it isn’t. I do not own that photo. ^ Just an image I got from Google images. It’s actually a finishing spray. It contains glycerin which helps in making your make up look more uniform. Essentially, it brings the whole make up look together (especially useful if you highlight and contour your face). This spray is also for hydration. So basically, it’s supposed to help by making your makeup not look dry/cakey. It kind of “melts” your make up to your skin (not literally melt cause that would be bad- but you get what I mean!). Of course you can use this product whichever way you like, BUT if you have oily skin DO NOT use this as a setting spray. Set your make up with a setting powder and then spray this on top if you would like. It can also be used as a primer. Because I have oily skin I was very skeptical about that so I don’t know how well it works as a primer. TIP: Don’t go crazy. 2-3 sprays should be enough. This product also works well with eyeshadows. In my opinion it works best with shimmery eyeshadows. Spray the Fix+ on your brush and then dip it into the eyeshadow. TIP: Pat the eyeshadow onto your lid. Don’t go back and forth. It will apply easier and look more pigmented this way. Hope you liked this post. If you do use a setting spray, what are your favorites?? Looking for a good one. Side note: My next blog post might be up a little late because of finals. Enjoy your week! Xo Follow me on insta? @sayeedah_
Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette – Worth the Hype?
Hi everyone! I was SO excited when I got my Huda Beauty Rose-Gold Eyeshadow Palette! Her fake eyelashes are AMAZING so my expectations of this was so high.. especially with all of the hype on social media! So did this palette live up to the hype?! Lets start off with the textured shadows. They are truly like nothing I’ve ever seen before! They kind of give a foiled effect when applied with your fingers. I’ve never seen a shimmery eyeshadow that glides on so smoothly and vividly. It’s like a loose pigment in eyeshadow form. The sparkly eyeshadows are so pigmented and vibrant. See below for sparkle swatches. (Angelic and Moondust are not 3D colors) Matte Swatches: The matte shadows are also pretty perfect! They are easily buildable and blendable. It is very pigmented and it lived up to my expectation! This is easily one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes. My only critiques are: -The black eyeshadow is not opaque and pigmented enough for my liking. -I think the packaging could be a little bit better for the price point. Other than that… I LOVE this palette! Suede, Coco and Shy are my favorite mattes! Angelic and rose gold are my favorite shimmers! Here are pics of me rockin’ Rose Gold! (NO PRIMER OR BASE UNDERNEATH!!) As you can see, it gives that foiled effect with a little bit of texture. I love this so much because you don’t need to use a loose shimmer or MAC fix+ What are your thoughts on this palette? I would love to hear! Follow me on instagram? @sayeedah_ Xoxo
Everything You Need to Know About the Beauty Blender
Hi everyone! I’m sure many of you have tried the Beauty Blender or want to try it so I just wanted to give you my thoughts on it. If you haven’t tried it yet… here’s how it works: Wet the sponge and squeeze out excess water (sponge should still be damp). Use it to blend your makeup (foundation, concealer, etc). Let the beauty blender air dry. This product works great for blending out concealer. For oily skin, I wouldn’t use it to blend foundation or to apply powders (I have oily skin, so I’m speaking from experience). To clean my beauty blender I use the soap that comes in some of the packages. It gets everything right out. You want to be careful with which products you use to clean it because some products might be too harsh which will cause the sponge to break. According to the company, the soap that comes in the package can also be used on brushes. The only bad thing is that you have to replace it every couple of months. If you don’t want to dish out $20 every couple of months on a new Beauty Blender, I’ve got some alternatives for you. Alternatives: -The Real Techniques Setting Brush works well to blend out my concealer as well. -PatrickStarrr mentioned that the Morphe G2 brush is also comparable to the beauty blender in one of his videos (haven’t tried this one yet). In comparison to other sponges out there, the Beauty Blender trumps all of them. I haven’t found one that really compares to it (yes there IS a difference). Review: Pro Blo-CurlME
Hi everyone! I’ve been seeing Pro-Blo products all over social media lately. I hate how flat hair straighteners make my hair so I decided to give this a try so I can finally have some voluminous straight hair! The middle picture comes in the box… Procedure: Wait till your hair is ~80% dry. Attach the brush head to the handle. Blow dry a section of your hair and then roll the brush up to your head. Remove the handle and clip the brush head into your hair. Repeat until all of your hair is up. Let it sit for about 20 mins. Release. So here are my thoughts after trying it one time.. I really wanted to LOVE this product! I’m not much of a blow dryer so let me preface this review by saying that. I think that if you blow dry your hair a lot then you might enjoy this more. However, I have long thick hair so blow drying my hair is a task. In my opinion, this was a lot of work. I waited till my hair was about 95% dry. My hair is naturally curly/wavy-ish so I had to blow it out straight and then roll it up. It took over an hour to do my hair (not accounting for the time that I had to let it set). The good thing about this is that I did notice that my hair had a lot of volume after blow drying it using this product. However, I didn’t see many curls in the end of my hair, which is specifically what the “CurlME” set it supposed to do. There were maybe like 2 curls but they loosed out and they weren’t defined at all. The curls were more like waves. If you want defined curls like you see in the pics all over social media, you will probably have to go in with a curling wand. The bad thing is that you have to be extremely careful when removing the barrels from your hair. It gets a little difficult even though I was extremely careful when putting them up. I was hoping this product would be revolutionary for me, but honestly… -It takes so much time…. not to mention stamina (lol) -It didn’t add any curls…only volume -With the humidity in FL I think I would rather just straighten my hair and add straightener curls to…
Anxiety
The experience of anxiety is different for everyone. I have testing anxiety and I’m what they call a “hot stressor”. I get really hot, my heart starts beating faster, and I have trouble remembering things. I also cannot drink anything 1 hour before an exam. Who determines whether or not you have anxiety? Is it a doctor? Or is it you yourself? I believe that we, ourselves, determine whether or not we have anxiety. No one knows what you are going through besides yourself. Just because you haven’t gone to a doctor does that mean your problem isn’t real? Just cause you haven’t gone to the doctor and gotten diagnosed for diabetes, does that mean that you don’t actually have diabetes? People tend to have a very narrow minded view of anxiety. Just because they’ve known or seen someone else experience anxiety, they think that your experience is going to be the exact same – which is highly unlikely. Anxiety manifests itself in varying degrees – meaning that someone may be higher on the scale or lower on the scale. The most annoying thing is when someone thinks that they can determine whether or not YOU have anxiety. Like…I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that you had a degree in psychology? When you tell someone you have anxiety and they believe that it’s just some self-fulfilling prophecy – it’s extremely frustrating. Frustrating because they think they know you… they think they know what goes on…think that they have the authority to tell you whether you have it or not.Why would I (or anyone who has anxiety) try to live up to such a crappy self fulfilling prophecy? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this subject, particularly if it’s something that you suffer from. xoxo <3 Follow me on instagram: @sayeedah_
