My Experience with Lash Extensions

lashes

Imagine waking up every morning with amazing lashes! Well, that’s exactly what lash extensions do for you! I am literally amazed at my lashes and want to stare at them all day long. If you’re like me and you’ve always wanted to get lashes but were unsure, I totally recommend them.

Before getting them done, there are some things you should know.

Pre-Application

Do not wear mascara the day of your lash appointment. You want your lashes to be clean so the glue can properly adhere to them.

Make sure that you shower before you go because you won’t be able to get your lashes wet for 24 hours after. This is so that the glue has time to set.

Application

First, my lash artist had me fill out a form to acknowledge the process of what was about to happen. She also assessed for possible allergies.  After this, I laid down while she put a piece of white paper down (not sure the term for it) on top of my bottom lashes to ensure that my top lashes would not get stuck to my bottom lashes. They glue the lashes to your real lashes. Your eyes have to be closed during the whole application process so now is a good time for a nap!

Since I got a volume set, the application time took about two hours.

You can go for a more natural look if you’d like but I went for  d r a m a because I was attending a wedding.

The procedure does not hurt at all!!

Aftercare

1) No mascara! Wearing mascara will reduce the longevity of your lashes. If you get a volume set like I did you will not need one drop of mascara.

2) Sleeping with your face up is recommended for obvious reasons.

3) Brush the hairs with a clean spooley day and night so the lashes do not get clumpy.

4) Use an oil-free eye makeup remover because oil can dissolve the glue. Some people recommend washing the hairs with a makeup brush dipped in a mixture of baby shampoo and warm water to remove any makeup remnants at least one time a week.

5) If you want to keep the lashes, it is recommended to get a fill every 2-3 weeks. They will fall out when your eyelashes naturally do. If you want to have them removed, it may be best to see a lash artist to do so.

Thoughts

I love them and wish my real lashes looked like this! It feels like my own lashes – super comfortable and you barely feel them there.

They cut my makeup time in half because they make the world of a difference! I think I’m addicted and want to do them all time but unfortunately I can’t.

The price range in Florida is around 100-200$ for a full set.

I got mine done by Andrea. You can find her on instagram: @lashesbylashit. She takes appointments through DMs if you are in the Orlando area and are interested.

I have been thinking about lash extensions for a while now. I always liked how they look, they completely change the look of eyes. I might get them in summer time because it would be so easy to take care of them as I don’t wear much makeup during summer. Your eyes look beautiful, volume set is definitely a way to go. xx

Thank you girl! If you don’t wear much makeup in the summer then I’d suggest a more natural set but I love them – totally worth it!

I’ve definitely been wondering about lash extensions. It seems like a lot of bloggers are jumping on this bandwagon lately… I’ve been trying this lash and brow growth enhancing serum (https://amzn.to/2QbihZZ) but haven’t really felt like it’s made much of a difference. Had you tried other avenues of lash enhancement before going to extensions?

I haven’t really tried anything else because I knew for the wedding I wanted something dramatic and lasting! Thank you for reading and sharing your experience on that lash product that you tried! xo I think for everyday I’m cool with just wearing mascara but it has been nice having beautiful lashes for the past two weeks! Worth every single penny!
