Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation Stick

Huda Beauty’s #FauxFilter Foundation Stick is supposed to be a wearable everyday, verison to the original foundation. But can anything ever really live up to that kind of magic? I mean, the original foundation is totally my holy grail. I’m actually really sad that they’ve replaced it with the luminous skin foundation but glad that I ended up stocking up on it!

Shade

My perfect shade of foundation is the original foundation in shade 340G-Baklava. However, in the foundation stick, I find that Baklava is more on the orange shade and that it does oxidize. Definitely check out her website to see what shade best suits you because the shade from the original foundation and the stick foundation are not the same.

Finish

The finish on this foundation is not matte. It’s a natural finish so I definitely have to go in with powder afterwards, otherwise I totally look way too dewy for my liking. This is definitely more of a medium coverage that can be built into more of a full coverage. I use a stippling brush to work the foundation in. I feel like a denser brush would make it harder to blend the foundation because it might pick up too much of the foundation. After powdering, the foundation looks nice on the skin but I wouldn’t say it’s as nice as the original foundation. Honestly, I like Hourglass’s stick foundation’s finish a bit more than this one.

Longevity

Ok let me start this by saying the I would definitely not pair this foundation with the Huda Beauty Water Jelly primer. I have oily skin and it does not look good together on my skin personally. It also doesn’t last as long with that.

I can go a full 12 hour day with this foundation and still not look like a greaseball which is a definite plus. I also went on a hike wearing this foundation in Florida heat and it lasted. I work out in the foundation and I still do not look like a greaseball. In terms of longevity, I definitely give this a 10/10. The only con is that although I’m not super shiny at the end of the day, the makeup will start to bunch in certain areas after a super long day. There are also some areas of luminosity but it’s not oily. Honestly, I would take that over looking super greasy any day!

Below is a photo of me after a full day.
