Oily Girl Things | CoverFx Power Play Foundation

Finding the perfect foundation for oily skin is my mission! I need something for everyday that’s long wearing, mattifying, and medium to full coverage. This month, I’ve been wearing CoverFx Power Play Foundation.

First Impressions

My first impressions were good because I first tried it in the store and I didn’t set it with powder. It lasted a good 3 hours WITHOUT powder. Needless to say, I went back and bought the foundation.

Shade Range

The shade range is AMAZING for people of color. My local sephora only carried a few shades, but the bigger sephoras have more. The color that I bought is N60 and it matches my skin tone SO WELL! Like this is the most perfect match that I’ve found in a foundation.

Coverage

The coverage on this is great. Just enough coverage for everyday without being too full coverage. It doesn’t cover my darkest hyperpigmentation spots but it does cover the lighter spots. Also, the foundation isn’t super heavy and actually really does look like skin. I like that it’s a liquid because it’s easy to blend.

It’s very buildable. I would also recommend dotting the foundation on your face and then blending in because the brush will soak up alot of product. Also, make sure you work fast because the product will settle into the skin very fast.

Longevity

This foundation lasts for four hours (typical for my skin type) when set with the CoverFx Mineral Foundation Powder, on a non-stressful day without getting shiny. When I am stressed out my foundation doesn’t last as long because my face gets super hot and then I get super oily (does this happen to anyone else).

When I tried this foundation with the Makeup Forever Duo Mat powder it lasted basically all day, so I think the issue with longevity was the CoverFx powder.

It claims to be sweatproof and I think it is because I work out in this foundation and it lasts on my skin. I know it’s gross to workout in foundation but I feel really weird going to the gym without makeup on!
