    24 HOUR FOUNDATION? | LANCOME TEINT IDOLE ULTRA WEAR FOUNDATION

    Lancome Teint Idole Foundation claims to be a comfortable, 24 hour wear foundation! I never actually touch up my makeup during the day because I’m too lazy to walk around with powder and a brush! The most I’ll do is blot. That’s why I was super excited to try this foundation! For reference: I wear the shade 415 W and I think it is a GREAT match! Not too yellow, not too dark and not too light I have oily skin A good foundation will normally last 4 hours on me without getting oily I’m not sure who wears foundation for 24 hours – it’s definitely not me! However, I do have pretty long days. When I’m at school I’m there for at least four hours not including travel time. The longest work shift i do is normally like 9 hours. Even though I haven’t tested this foundation for 24 hours I’d say a good 12 hours is enough right? I’ve actually been using this for the past few months so I can give you the real tea on this! I’ve tested this using my favorite primer ever – the smashbox photofinish primer. Longevity IT DOES NOT LAST 24 HOURS. I kind of knew that was gonna happen cause lets be real when does that ever happen if you have oily skin. I’d say it lasts a good four hours before my skin gets oily which is actually okay with me. Finish It’s got a velvety-matte finish which I love! It literally looks like skin and it is not cake-y at all. It’s a liquid which I love for everyday because it’s super fast and easy to blend out. Coverage If you’re looking for a good medium coverage foundation – this is it! It definitely doesn’t cover my darker acne scarring but it’s enough coverage to even out my skin tone, get rid of redness, and cover acne scars that are lighter. Shade Range I think the shade range is amazing, especially for golden tones. They did a really good job of getting the undertones just perfect. Overall The packing is super cute (glass packaging). I love that it has SPF (and no flashback) and all in all I think it’s a really great foundation for everyday wear! Will definitely repurchase. Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?   • My Experience with Lash Extensions

    Imagine waking up every morning with amazing lashes! Well, that’s exactly what lash extensions do for you! I am literally amazed at my lashes and want to stare at them all day long. If you’re like me and you’ve always wanted to get lashes but were unsure, I totally recommend them. Before getting them done, there are some things you should know. Pre-Application Do not wear mascara the day of your lash appointment. You want your lashes to be clean so the glue can properly adhere to them. Make sure that you shower before you go because you won’t be able to get your lashes wet for 24 hours after. This is so that the glue has time to set. Application First, my lash artist had me fill out a form to acknowledge the process of what was about to happen. She also assessed for possible allergies.  After this, I laid down while she put a piece of white paper down (not sure the term for it) on top of my bottom lashes to ensure that my top lashes would not get stuck to my bottom lashes. They glue the lashes to your real lashes. Your eyes have to be closed during the whole application process so now is a good time for a nap! Since I got a volume set, the application time took about two hours. You can go for a more natural look if you’d like but I went for  d r a m a because I was attending a wedding. The procedure does not hurt at all!! Aftercare 1) No mascara! Wearing mascara will reduce the longevity of your lashes. If you get a volume set like I did you will not need one drop of mascara. 2) Sleeping with your face up is recommended for obvious reasons. 3) Brush the hairs with a clean spooley day and night so the lashes do not get clumpy. 4) Use an oil-free eye makeup remover because oil can dissolve the glue. Some people recommend washing the hairs with a makeup brush dipped in a mixture of baby shampoo and warm water to remove any makeup remnants at least one time a week. 5) If you want to keep the lashes, it is recommended to get a fill every 2-3 weeks.   • Oily Girl Things | Too Faced Born This Way Setting Powder

    Apparently if you want your makeup to look flawless, this is the setting powder to buy! Whenever I buy a setting powder I get it in the travel size for two reasons: 1) I don’t bake my face very often and 2) it allows me to try out other products if I decide that I don’t like the one I purchased. Honestly, I can see why people rave about this. When you use this either for plain setting purposes or for baking, it literally leaves your skin looking so smooth and flawless. This product contains hyaluronic acid, which is known for giving the skin a more youthful appearance, which it definitely does! What I do love about it is that it feels super lightweight and not at all cakey which is unlike any powder I’ve tried! Because I have oily skin, I’m always on the hunt for good, long lasting makeup that I won’t have to blot or touch up all day long. I tried baking with this product because I know my makeup typically lasts longer when I bake. Sadly, however, my makeup only lasted for four hours when I baked using this product. Normally when I bake I can wear my makeup for a full day without having to retouch. Also, people claim that this product that doesn’t cause flashback. I, on the other hand, disagree. I took a picture at night and it definitely causes flashback. You may not see it as much if you take the picture during the day. I think if you have dry skin you will absolutely LOVE this powder…in the daytime. If you want to try it, you can get it here.     Why is it as women that we are expected to make a choice? Do you want a career or do you want a family/a life? People are always in disbelief that you can have both. And it’s not just the people looking from the outside in. It’s the people around you as well. People try to make you feel bad for wanting both. Like your whole entire life should come second to a career – because that’s the life you C H O S E. It’s as though being a woman who wants a life outside of a career is something to be looked down upon. Like one cannot exist with the other. Like women should wait until they are stable in their career to be able to have both. I see things differently. Here’s why: life will always throw you curve balls. Are you ever really ready for anything life has to throw your way? Not really. I was never ready. I was never ready for high school (my first public school) or to move away from home in undergrad. You’re kind of just thrown into a situation and you just adjust from there. People around you think that by giving you advice they are giving you THE BEST advice, when that is not always the case. People’s opinions and take on life is shaped by their experience. And everyone in life has different experiences. That is why personally, I take what everyone says with a grain of salt. I know there may be truth in what people say, but ultimately, no one knows what’s best for you, more than you. It’s a constant battle of: “You can just wait until you are done with school to pursue x, y and z.” No. School shouldn’t consume you to the part where you feel like you have to sacrifice a life for it. It’s okay to want a relationship too. It’s okay to have other interests too. It’s okay to want to be married too. It’s okay to want to have a family too. These are all normal things that women want but women who pursue careers are made to feel bad for wanting these things. As if it’s crazy to want. It’s not. It’s okay to crave those things.   • The Best Primer I’ve Ever Used

    OMG! You guys, if you want perfect silky skin you need to try this primer! I promise you that it does deliver. Tatcha’s Silk Canvas Primer is pretty pricey but I’m telling you that it’s worth it. It retails for $52 at Sephora. Whenever I see a primer that is supposed to make your face look silky or moisturized I kind of shy away from it being that I have oily skin. Typically I stick to a mattifying primer but I decided to try this since I got a sample from Sephora. Claims: smoothen makeup and increase longevity. Good for all skin types. Since I have oily skin I’ll be giving my oily skin girls the run down. Does it increase longevity? I don’t think so. It lasted as long as my makeup normally would without getting oily which is about 4 hours. Keep in mind that in Florida the sun is literally in your face so that is a pretty decent amount of time. DOES IT SMOOTH MAKEUP?! OMG YES!!!!! My face has never looked better using this primer! you have to use it! You will literally look like a porcelain doll. Smashbox is my ride or die but I like this primer even more! Does it make your skin oilier? No Breakouts? Nope Overall I give this a 5/5. Get your hands on this if you can!!!
