Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy Highlighter Review

    May 20, 2018 by sayeedahsparkles

The highlighter queen finally came out with a highlight! Anastasia Beverly Hills just collaborated with @amrezyto create this highlight. I know I’m super late on this review – sorry. I’ve been so busy with life! Onto the Review… Packaged in a beautiful black and rose gold container, this beauty retails for $28. I actually think the price is decent for the amount of product you get. Amrezy is the queen of highlight so I was expecting something super blinding. However, on the package it states that this highlighter is meant to look like a glow from within. It can be used dry or wet. Here’s what the color looks like swatched: DRY APPLICATION When used dry it definitely does make you look like you are glowing from within. It kind of blends into my skin tone and doesn’t stand out as much as other highlighters like the Huda Beauty 3D Highlight. I think that’s kind of the look she was going for though. You can build it up to add more color but I feel like I have to really add a lot of product on for it to be blinding. Not gonna lie, I was a little bummed that it wasn’t blinding but I get the concept. I would wear this dry on a day to day basis to make my skin look glowy. WET APPLICATION When used wet, the highlighter stands out 50x more and looks so much more blinding and beautiful. I love that look for pictures cause I just love when highlighter stands out a lot. It looks really nice on my skin tone when used wet. However, I still feel highlighters from other brands “pop” more on my skin tone. See pic below for wet application swatched on my cheekbone: EASE OF APPLICATION The other thing that I noticed is that it’s easier to apply with fingers than with a brush. Because of the wave pattern its so densely packed in there that you have to swirl your brush in it pretty good to get a decent amount of product out. The wave pattern is so pretty that I get scared to mess it up with my brush! Anywho, all in all its a nice versatile highlighter that can be toned down or up depending on whether its used wet or dry. Have you guys tried this highlighter? Thoughts?? FOLLOW ME: instagram @sayeedah_

  • Fashionnova Review!

    May 1, 2018 by sayeedahsparkles

Ok so i finally ordered from fashionnova! I know – super late cause I was skeptical! Everyone says they are super cheap. To be honest their prices are comparable to forever21 or Charlotte Russe (not dirt cheap but still very affordable).

  • Frank Body Coffee Scrub

    April 27, 2018 by sayeedahsparkles

The most instagrammed body scrub – Frank Body’s Coffee Scrub was sent to me by influenster in their #prepvoxbox. I have been meaning to try this so I was so excited to have been sent this! I got the Coconut Coffee Scrub. Here’s what’s inside the scrub: Robusta coffee beans: stimulates collagen production Grapeseed oil: fatty acids to fade scars Coconut oil: antibacterial & antidryness Jojoba beads: polish skin When you buy it, it comes in a resealable bag for ~19. I mention the resealable bag because there’s a decent amount of product in there so you will want to keep it for a bit. My thoughts: Ok so first: WOW it really smells like coffee. Like I got out the shower and still smelled like coffee! Second: its a loose scrub so you pick some up with your hand and then start scrubbing your body. This made a mess in my whole shower! OMG. Obviously clean up was easy cause I just had to use the water to wash it down the drain. It literally looks like coffee when it washes away. It’s one of the harshest exfoliators I’ve ever used. However, I don’t think it’s a bad thing. It actually felt like it was taking away the dead skin and it wasn’t so harsh that it was irritating. It was just harsh enough. You leave it for three minutes and then wash it off. Afterwards I noticed a moisturized film left on my skin which was nice. It left my skin feeling super hydrated. Overall: I think the exfoliator is really nice. However, I wouldn’t purchase this on my own because for ~$20 I would rather buy something that is less messy. They did come out with a no mess scrub which is basically the same scrub in a liquid vehicle so check that out if you are interested! Have you tried this scrub? Thoughts? What are some of your fave scrubs out there? Instagram: @sayeedah_     Disclaimer: This was sent to me by Influenster but all opinions are my own.

Shampoo that looks like juice – how cute! Honestly, that’s one of the reasons I bought Maui Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. The other reason was that it was buy one get one half off at Ulta.

  • Let’s Talk about Setting Your Face! (Part 2!)

    April 16, 2018 by sayeedahsparkles

The first makeup product I ever owned was setting powder. Actually, it may have been lipgloss. BUT when I first started wearing makeup I used to only wear setting powder.. you know, the types that have foundation in them. To this day I can’t believe I never wore foundation in high school (well, except for prom and homecoming). Anyhow let’s get into the real reason I’m writing this post. My main goal this year is to perfect a flawless base for oily skin. Having oily skin means I only wear matte products, however that can sometimes make my skin look a little too matte in the center. So I want a routine that makes my skin looks flawless, matte and lasts long.

  • Oily Girl Things | The Secret to Flawless Long Lasting Makeup ??

    March 30, 2018 by sayeedahsparkles

Recently, I’ve seen more and more makeup gurus doing this 1 little trick to help with their makeup, so I decided to try it out. The trick: Spray your beauty blender with setting spray and then use it to blend in your foundation. Here is the video that inspired me to try it out: Carli Bybel’s Full Coverage Foundation Routine I get oily in the cheek area around my nose and it makes my makeup look really weird and not smooth. I didn’t follow everything step by step – I kind of did my own thing but essentially it’s the same trick. What I did Applied my foundation to my skin with a brush and blended it out Wet my beauty blender and then sprayed it with Urban Decay All Nighter Spray Pat the foundation into my skin using my now damp beauty blender Applied my concealers and other liquids Set my face with powder Sprayed the All Nighter Spray all over to lock my makeup in place THEN sprayed it onto my blender and pat in the areas around my nose where I tend to get oily Results My makeup looked really nice. It stayed in place and did not get oily. However I will say that it made my skin feel slightly heavy and made the makeup feel a bit sticky on my skin. It smoothed out the area around my nose. It made my makeup look flawless and last for a long time but I feel that it’s better for full glam days instead of a normal day. Concerns: Would spraying the beauty blender invite more germs? I’m not sure about the All Nighter Spray but I do know that some sprays contain glycerin which may promote more microbial growth. That would mean you’d have to replace the blender more often. Also, is this method too harsh on the skin for every day… will it clog the pores? Do you guys use this method? What are your thoughts? Follow me on Instagram! @sayeedah_
