• My Perfect Nude Lip Combo

    Lipstick is one of my favorite makeup items (if you couldn’t already tell). It can drastically change your makeup look! Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of peachy tones being worn. I like wearing something a little toned down on an everyday basis and so far the following combo has been my favorite peachy neutral combo! This combo just goes so well with my skin tone. Tan skinned girls… you will be thanking me for this (I’m sure this will look nice on a variety of skin tones too)! How to Achieve this Lip Combo: 1) Apply MAC “Spice” lip liner all over the lips. One of my favorites! Definitely a staple! 2) Put on NARS “Belle Du Jour” lipstick. When I first swatched this it was so light – I was skeptical. But it looks perfect with Spice lip liner underneath! 3) Top with Gerard Cosmetics “Nude” Lipgloss One of my all time favorite glosses! I swear by their nudes! They have the most flattering nudes for poc. And that’s it! Hope you guys like it! I will have a really juicy blog post up for Valentine’s Day next week.   • Bobbi Brown: Good for Everyday Makeup?

    I recently purchased the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Compact Foundation after trying it out at Neiman Marcus and I wanted to do a review for you guys. For my everyday makeup I like to wear something that is lighter than a normal foundation but still has medium-full coverage. That’s why I was excited to try this. After using it for a while, here are my thoughts: Likes: Plethora of shades with yellow undertones Good coverage Lightweight Dislikes: Dewy/hydrated finish I have oily skin so I like something more matte Not long wearing Lasts maybe 3 hours before my skin looks oily Hope you guys liked this post! What are your favorite everyday makeup picks? I also used to love MAC studio tech foundation + powder compact (it was a cream as well).   • Are Expensive Lip Scrubs Better than DIYs?

    As someone who has chronically chapped lips, I was extremely excited to try this lip scrub! I was really hoping this would be my lip-saver. This lip scrub is from fresh and it is called Sugar Lip Polish ($24). The directions say to massage a small amount onto the lips and then wipe it off with a damp washcloth. It can be used 2-3x a week. Here are my opinions on this product: I like that it makes my lips feel smooth afterwards. It also makes my lips plump (but that’s expected because of the exfoliation). I don’t like that it doesn’t get all of the dead skin off of my lips. There is still some flakiness afterwards. Also, while it does feel smooth, it doesn’t feel moisturized. Overall, I think it’s a decent product but not worth the money. A DIY lip scrub works just as well and is way less expensive. Here’s a DIY lip scrub recipe I’ve used before from Michelle Phan: Ingredients: 1 tsp sugar 2 tbsp honey A squirt of Vaseline Just mix the ingredients together, massage into your lips, and wipe off with a damp washcloth!   • The Hunt for the Best Dry Shampoo

    Dry shampoo is a must-have if you’re someone like me who washes their hair every 2-3 days. Initially I thought dry shampoo was a myth until I finally tried it for myself and realized what a staple it is. I’m still looking for my favorite one, but here are my thoughts on the ones that I’ve tried so far. 1) Loreal Paris EverStyle Dry Shampoo Out of the three that I’ve tried, this was my least favorite. This works for like 3 minutes and then my hair is greasy again. 2) Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo This product is great for absorbing excess oil and adding volume to the hair. It’s also super long lasting. This is my favorite out of the three. 3) TRESemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo My hair does not look greasy at first when I use this product but it isn’t very long lasting. I also don’t see much added volume with this product. I have very thick coarse hair so it might work better on someone with thinner hair. Any suggestions on which ones I should try next?
