United Arab Emirates

Day 1 – Dubai Mall

Our three week Middle East trip started in the United Arab Emirates. We only had two full days and boy did we get a lot done! Started out by checking in to our hotel (The Palace Downtown) which is right next to the Dubai Mall so I highly recommend this one. We got in pretty late so we just went to the Dubai Mall, had something to eat, then went to bed. Iykyk, the Dubai Mall is AMAZING! One of the biggest, most luxurious malls I’ve ever been to. It even has a ski rink inside! We rented a car for this part of the trip and if it’s something you can do, I’d definitely recommend it.

Day 2 – Abu Dhabi and Global Village

First on our list was Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and it is definitely grand. Definitely top 5 masjids I’ve ever gotten to see. Make sure you book a time slot ahead of time.

Fun fact: this mosque is home to the largest floral marble mosaic in the world!

After this, we made our way to emirate palace (which is a hotel) but so beautiful it’s worth a trip to see.

Then next up, Qasr al Watan – the Presidential Palace of the UAE in Abu Dhabi. This is a working palace, with parts open to the public. The architecture and grandeur is just stunning.

After this, we headed to Global Village. This is a multicultural festival park showcasing the culture, food, and unique crafts of over 90 countries. We bought some abayas and had steak and fries which I would recommend. They had really pretty abayas so check them out if you have a chance. My phone was dead so no photos 😡

Day 3 – Miracle Garden

Dubai’s miracle garden is the world’s largest natural flower garden. It’s open from October to April and houses beautiful floral sculptures.

We were supposed to visit the view at the palm and have dinner at Asia Asia in the Dubai Marina this day but we were too tired so we called it a night!

Day 4 – Leave to go to Medina, Saudi Arabia, coming up next blog!

What are your favorite spots in the UAE?
