  • Everything You Need to Know About the Beauty Blender

    November 15, 2016 by sayeedahsparkles

Hi everyone! I’m sure many of you have tried the Beauty Blender or want to try it so I just wanted to give you my thoughts on it.  If you haven’t tried it yet… here’s how it works: Wet the sponge and squeeze out excess water (sponge should still be damp). Use it to blend your makeup (foundation, concealer, etc). Let the beauty blender air dry. This product works great for blending out concealer. For oily skin, I wouldn’t use it to blend foundation or to apply powders (I have oily skin, so I’m speaking from experience). To clean my beauty blender I use the soap that comes in some of the packages. It gets everything right out. You want to be careful with which products you use to clean it because some products might be too harsh which will cause the sponge to break. According to the company, the soap that comes in the package can also be used on brushes. The only bad thing is that you have to replace it every couple of months. If you don’t want to dish out $20 every couple of months on a new Beauty Blender, I’ve got some alternatives for you. Alternatives: -The Real Techniques Setting Brush works well to blend out my concealer as well. -PatrickStarrr mentioned that the Morphe G2 brush is also comparable to the beauty blender in one of his videos (haven’t tried this one yet). In comparison to other sponges out there, the Beauty Blender trumps all of them. I haven’t found one that really compares to it (yes there IS a difference). • Review: Pro Blo-CurlME

    November 11, 2016 by sayeedahsparkles

Hi everyone! I’ve been seeing Pro-Blo products all over social media lately. I hate how flat hair straighteners make my hair so I decided to give this a try so I can finally have some voluminous straight hair! The middle picture comes in the box… Procedure: Wait till your hair is ~80% dry. Attach the brush head to the handle. Blow dry a section of your hair and then roll the brush up to your head. Remove the handle and clip the brush head into your hair. Repeat until all of your hair is up. Let it sit for about 20 mins. Release. So here are my thoughts after trying it one time.. I really wanted to LOVE this product! I’m not much of a blow dryer so let me preface this review by saying that. I think that if you blow dry your hair a lot then you might enjoy this more. However, I have long thick hair so blow drying my hair is a task. In my opinion, this was a lot of work. I waited till my hair was about 95% dry. My hair is naturally curly/wavy-ish so I had to blow it out straight and then roll it up. It took over an hour to do my hair (not accounting for the time that I had to let it set). The good thing about this is that I did notice that my hair had a lot of volume after blow drying it using this product. However, I didn’t see many curls in the end of my hair, which is specifically what the “CurlME” set it supposed to do. There were maybe like 2 curls but they loosed out and they weren’t defined at all. The curls were more like waves. If you want defined curls like you see in the pics all over social media, you will probably have to go in with a curling wand. The bad thing is that you have to be extremely careful when removing the barrels from your hair. It gets a little difficult even though I was extremely careful when putting them up. I was hoping this product would be revolutionary for me, but honestly… -It takes so much time…. not to mention stamina (lol) -It didn’t add any curls…only volume -With the humidity in FL I think I would rather just straighten my hair and add straightener curls to…

  • Anxiety

    October 31, 2016 by sayeedahsparkles

The experience of anxiety is different for everyone. I have testing anxiety and I’m what they call a “hot stressor”. I get really hot, my heart starts beating faster, and I have trouble remembering things. I also cannot drink anything 1 hour before an exam. Who determines whether or not you have anxiety? Is it a doctor? Or is it you yourself? I believe that we, ourselves, determine whether or not we have anxiety. No one knows what you are going through besides yourself. Just because you haven’t gone to a doctor does that mean your problem isn’t real? Just cause you haven’t gone to the doctor and gotten diagnosed for diabetes, does that mean that you don’t actually have diabetes? People tend to have a very narrow minded view of anxiety. Just because they’ve known or seen someone else experience anxiety, they think that your experience is going to be the exact same – which is highly unlikely. Anxiety manifests itself in varying degrees – meaning that someone may be higher on the scale or lower on the scale. The most annoying thing  is when someone thinks that they can determine whether or not YOU have anxiety. Like…I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that you had a degree in psychology? When you tell someone you have anxiety and they believe that it’s just some self-fulfilling prophecy – it’s extremely frustrating. Frustrating because they think they know you… they think they know what goes on…think that they have the authority to tell you whether you have it or not.Why would I (or anyone who has anxiety) try to live up to such a crappy self fulfilling prophecy? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this subject, particularly if it’s something that you suffer from. xoxo <3 Follow me on instagram: @sayeedah_

  • My Go-To Everyday Eyeshadow Palette

    October 26, 2016 by sayeedahsparkles

Hi everyone! The palette that I’ve been loving lately for an everyday eyeshadow look is the Carli Bybel Eyeshadow Palette by bh cosmetics! It comes with 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlight colors. There are 5 shimmery eyeshadows and five matte eyeshadows. I like using the highlighters in the inner corners of my eye too and sometimes all over my lid. Cons: I don’t actually like the highlighters for actual highlighting. The colors don’t work that will with my skin tone and the highlights are a bit cheap. It leaves a weird tint on my face. However, it works very well for added shimmer on the eyes. Why do I love this palette? It’s extremely affordable The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and long wearing The colors are warm, neutral and perfect for everyday I especially love the pink/purple colors – so beautiful on brown eyes! Eyeshadows are creamy and easy to use blend Here are swatches of all of the colors (click on the pics to get a better look) I started from left to right with the lightest cream color at the start of my wrist. I use the third color in the top row a lot and then just add a transition color in the crease on most days! Hope you guys liked this post. Would you guys like to see some looks using this palette? Also, what are your favorite eyeshadow palettes? Leave me a comment and let me know! Xo Follow me on insta! @sayeedah_

  • The 3 Best DIY Beauty Treatments

    October 17, 2016 by sayeedahsparkles

I’m sure we’ve all seen or read about DIY beauty treatments on the internet… but which ones are the best? I’ll break it down for you… Hair Mayo How to apply: Wet hair with warm water. Apply mayo from the middle of the hair to the ends. Put hair up into a shower cap for 30-45 minutes. Wash the mayo out with shampoo. Results: Mayo works so good in hair! With mayo I see immediate results! My hair feels softer and healthier Face Aloe How to apply: Buy a stem of aloe (if you live in FL you can get it at Publix). Cut a small piece off of it. Peel the thick green outer layer off. Mash it up with a fork and leave it on your face until you feel it getting tight (I normally leave it on for an hour). Wash it off. You can do this everyday if you’d like. Results: Aloe leaves my face feeling hydrated, moisturized, and refreshed! When I have dry patches on my face I’ll use this for a couple days and the dry patches go away. Skin Coconut Oil How to apply: I’ll let this soak in my skin for a couple hours and then wash it off in the shower. Results: My skin is moisturized but doesn’t look greasy 🙂 After trying a bunch, these are what I think work the best! What are your favorite DIY Beauty Treatments? Leave me a comment and let me know! Have a great week! Xo

  • Contour & Highlight Routine for Oily Skin

    October 11, 2016 by sayeedahsparkles

Hi everyone! This post is dedicated to my favorite contouring products. I don’t like to go heavy with contouring – I like something more subtle. I have oily skin so it took me a while to figure out which product combinations worked for me but thankfully I found it! Before I jump in… I just want to debunk a few “myths”: People with oily skin should only use powder contour products I’ve tried using ONLY the Anastasia Beverly Hills powder contour kit to contour but it just looked so bad and cakey. Also, when my face got oily it just ended up looking muddy. I prefer using a liquid and then setting it with a setting powder…looks much nicer! People with oily skin should not use a damp beauty blender I use a damp beauty blender to blend in my concealer and it works fine. However, I wouldn’t suggest using a damp beauty blender to apply foundation or setting powders. Ok.. now that we have that down, let’s get into products! Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer-Custard This stuff really lives up to the hype. I use this under my eyes (in a triangle shape) and in the center of my forehead, chin, cupid’s bow, and nose. I use a damp beauty blender to blend this out. You can also use a brush. Ben Nye “Pretty Pink” translucent powder Set under eyes, chin, and forehead  with this powder…can also use this to “bake” Baking: I suggest leaving the powder for at least 10 minutes so it can really absorb into the skin. I find that when I leave it for less time the powder doesn’t fully absorb and ends up looking more cakey. Can also apply some powder underneath cheek contour to sharpen the contour (leave it for a minute or two and then remove excess) Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Contour kit Light to Medium kit: Use the color “Fawn” to carve out cheekbones Fawn is the middle shade in the second row of the kit (Can be purchased in singles – don’t have to buy the whole kit) It’s a very cool toned color so it’s perfect for creating depth and dimension MAC Cosmetics “Give Me Sun” Bronzer This warm toned bronzer looks so beautiful on a wide range of skin tones! I love it so much!! Apply to the outer perimeter of the forehead, hollows of cheekbones, and along the…
