As cold weather approaches, (apparently everywhere but Florida), sweaters are a must! They’re honestly my favorite to wear because they are so extremely comfy.
The Best Winter Activities in Central Florida
Living in FL, you know that winter doesn’t really feel like winter. It’s literally 80 degrees in the middle of December. That’s why I like going to winter/holiday themed events and activities! It makes me feel like we at least have a little winter even if we don’t. ***This is based on stuff that I have personally done. I obviously have not done everything so if there’s something I missed out that you think is great please let me know in a comment below*** ***Websites for events are linked. Just look for the underlined words! 1) Gaylord Palms ICE! Show I loved this show! They basically have a bunch of ice sculptures! They are so pretty! I couldn’t believe how detailed everything was. It was also really cold though so if you do decide to go, bring a jacket… and maybe gloves! They also have ice slides at the end which are super fun! This show runs until January 7th. Adult tickets: ~$30 Child tickets: ~$15 For more information, click the following link to go to their website. 2) Light up UCF They light up the area around the CFE arena and they do a light show! They also have a wheel, a ride, ice skating, a trolley, and an ice slide! The ice show and the slide were my faves! They also do carriage rides and pictures with Santa! I believe this ends on the 31st of December so hurry and go if you haven’t! Pricing varies (see website below). We paid $20 for the “ultimate package” For more information, visit Light Up UCF’s website. 3) “Now Snowing” in Celebration They do nightly “snow” starting at 6, 7, 8, and 9 pm every night. The snow is basically soap but it’s super cute and adorable! We also went on the train ride which was also cute. In addition, they’ve got ice skating, carriage rides, and pictures with Santa. That area is super cute in itself and they have cute little restaurants, an ice cream shop, and a boutique! Ends December 31st Ice Skating: $10 for 1/2 hours Horse and Carriage Rides: $45 (includes 4 people) Photos with Santa: Price varies 4) Mount Dora “Light Up” I love Mount Dora. It’s the cutest town! Think Star’s Hollow from Gilmore Girls. The actual “light up” already happened but the lights are on every night. 5 o clock would be a good…
Sugaring: What it is & How to do it
Sugaring is a process of hair removal that a lot of middle eastern women do. It makes use of all natural ingredients: sugar, water, and lemon juice. You can make your own or buy a paste. I bought my sugaring paste from Amazon ($16) because I feel like I would definitely mess that up!
3 Ways to Rock a White/Nude Eyeliner
As you probably already know, I love black. I’ve been wearing black eyeliner in my waterline since I started wearing makeup. Wearing white eyeliner can be tricky if you have a darker skin tone or if you have huge eyes. White/nude eyeliners (in the waterline) make your eyes look bigger. It gives a really cool doll like appearance and makes your eyes pop. BUT if you’re not careful it can make you look kinda crazy! So here are some ways that I’ve found works for me: **I’ve used a nude eyeliner in the pictures from Rimmel. 1) Smoke out the lower lash line I find that this helps a lot in making me not look crazy with white liner. It kinda just balances everything out and completes the look. I typically will go in with a lighter color first (like a light brown), and then go in tighter with a dark brown/black. 2) Try the eyeliner dot trick Basically you take a liquid liner and then make tiny dots along your lower lash line so it looks like you have more lower lashes than you actually do, creating a fuller lash line. This balances out the white/nude liner. It makes your eyes look very doll like and cute. 3) Mix it up Add white liner on the inner thirds of the eyes and then black liner on the remaining two thirds of the waterline. It honestly makes your eyes pop so much more than if you were wearing black liner alone. If you’re shy with white/nude liner then I suggest trying this first. It looks really pretty if you add a pair of flirty lashes! I’m wearing Ardell Soft Touch lashes in the pictures but I suggest Eylure No 206 for this! I love doing this for a special occasion when I know I’m going to take lots of pictures! Do you guys prefer to wear black or white eyeliner in your waterline? Living in a Photoshopped World
This post is a little different. I wanted to address something that’s been on my mind lately and get your thoughts on it. I was in the grocery store the other day and I saw a magazine with a celebrity on it. The shocking thing was how crazy her makeup was photoshopped. Like photoshopped to the point where it clearly looked fake. Like almost cartoonish type fake.
Fall Style: Dusters and Boots
Dusters are one of those trends that will probably be around forever. They are so chic and classy and probably one of my favorite outerwear items! I especially love this one I got from one of my favorite online stores, SheIn. This fits true to size. So if you’re a size small in other items on the site, then get a small in this item too. The sizing chart was kind of confusing here so just go by that rule. It’s on S A L E for $17 – that’s 50% off!! If you like this duster, click here to check it out! I love that this duster is blue because I love blue against my complexion! Not only that, but it comes with a string that you can use to tie it however you like. It doesn’t have the little things on the side to run the string through so that way it doesn’t look weird if you decide that you don’t want to use the string. I like to keep it open so you can see the outfit inside! I paired this duster with an elegant sleeveless shirt with a built in necklace (is that what it’s called??) and then added ripped jeans to make it more edgy. Being a short girl, all of my outfits are way too long and outfits like this usually drag on the floor. However, I like that this one is short enough so that it doesn’t sweep the floor. No alterations needed, woohoo! & of course it wouldn’t be a fall outfit without… BOOTS! I know chunkier heels are more in style now but I’m more of a stiletto heel girl so I love these! I’ve had them since high school! I’ll link a similar pair at the end of the post! I’m also loving the bell sleeves cause they add some interest to the duster! If you like this outfit, you can shop this duster and similar outfit pieces below. The wristlet was from coach, by the way! *The jeans (AE), boots (Guess) and shirt (Charlotte Russe) were bought a while ago so they aren’t in stock anymore but I’ve linked similar styles (see below).
