I’m sure many of you have tried the Beauty Blender or want to try it so I just wanted to give you my thoughts on it.
If you haven’t tried it yet… here’s how it works:
Wet the sponge and squeeze out excess water (sponge should still be damp). Use it to blend your makeup (foundation, concealer, etc). Let the beauty blender air dry.
This product works great for blending out concealer. For oily skin, I wouldn’t use it to blend foundation or to apply powders (I have oily skin, so I’m speaking from experience).
To clean my beauty blender I use the soap that comes in some of the packages. It gets everything right out. You want to be careful with which products you use to clean it because some products might be too harsh which will cause the sponge to break. According to the company, the soap that comes in the package can also be used on brushes.
The only bad thing is that you have to replace it every couple of months. If you don’t want to dish out $20 every couple of months on a new Beauty Blender, I’ve got some alternatives for you.
-The Real Techniques Setting Brush works well to blend out my concealer as well.
-PatrickStarrr mentioned that the Morphe G2 brush is also comparable to the beauty blender in one of his videos (haven’t tried this one yet).
In comparison to other sponges out there, the Beauty Blender trumps all of them. I haven’t found one that really compares to it (yes there IS a difference).
